“Great spot in Gion - you will be happy”
Don’t let my 4 stars fool you - this was an excellent meal, each dish was very very well made, the service fast and attentive and start to finish a nice procession of dishes. I reserve my 5 stars for fabulous Michelin-grade experiences and Kirara is not trying to be that. Their menu selection is pra...ctical, prices very reasonable in the busiest street of Gion. We loved it and would eat there again.

“Kaiseki traditional multi course once in a lifetime experience!”
If you want authentic Kyoto cuisine go here. My wife and I had the #3 sharing 28000 yen dinner for two. We had several courses. Sashimi, tempura, Kobe beef and more. It was wonderful and we will always remember the delicate fusions of tastes. I loved the crab rice. Included desert.

“The best experience in Kyoto.”
Location; Gion Kyoto. You may opt for a traditional Japanese table and to sit on a pillow or to stay at the bar, having a regular chair. Service: English speaker waiters, prompt and very attentive; Food: five star quality on a scale from one to five. Four dishes at 5500 yen and prompt service. The ...food was calitative and enjoyable. The best memory on the last day in Kyoto.

“Wonderful Family Dinner Experience!”
Went to Kirara after a long day of travel from Korea to Kyoto and the food was excellent. Kirara is a traditional Kaiseki (懐石) restaurant and offers multi-course Japanese meal. It’s classic Japanese & you either sit at a counter, which was packed with regulars, or you sit traditional Tatami style o...n the floor. The food is delicious, creative and prepared with seasonal ingredients. We ordered 3 different set menus, the largest included Red Miso soup, tempura, rice, vegetables, salad, sashimi, grilled fish, Shirasu, meat & dessert. Everything was delicious and Yuya our host was wonderful!

“Great Japanese style restaurant in Gion”
We went for Lunch as we were in Kyoto for the day and we going around Gion. The setting is very Japanese with a choice of seating at the counter or Tatmi. We chose each a set menu and it was really tasty and relatively cheap. Also tried their Sake of the day which was also ezally good and they do s...erve a very generous portion too. Definitely worth a visit if you are looking for trying Japanese food in a nice setting!
