Kyoryori Tankuma Kitamise Directed by M Kurisu

On our last night in the hotel we decided to have a nice and calm dinner in this restaurant. It was calm, but unfortunately it wasn't nice. My wife ordered the tempura, which was a bit greasy. My son went for the sukiyaki, which was literally 100g of meat, a leek slice, a small spring onion cut in h...alf, a small bunch of shimeji mushrooms, a 2cm dice of tofu, all swimming in a bland simmering broth. I ordered the bento box, and I found the ingredients were not at the quality level I expected for the price we paid. I've been in all kind of restaurants (from cheap bars for workers to Michelin starred), and I can say in my opinion this restaurant is very overrated. I was expecting a higher quality and/or a bit more quantity. Maybe we weren't lucky and the chef took a day off... If you're around Kyoto, there are much better options (and cheaper!) for dinner.

Well executed, authentic and service was great. we ordered the rice porridge set. The condiments were interesting and range good.

We decided to have dinner in the hotel ,as we were tired , the day we arrived . The Japanese restaurant was surprisingly nearly totally empty . The food however was very good . We had a Kaiseki set meal and a vegetable tempura . It was all wonderfully presented and beautifully prepared . I am sure ...that there are other excellent options with great surroundings in Kyoto . However if you do decide to eat in the hotel , this restaurant will not disappoint you .

Great meal, food was beautiful, service was 4 Star, and friendly. Price reasonable compared with other hotels. Family restaurants across the road from hotel but the waiting list was far too long so we decided to eat in the hotel glad we did.

I ate at hotel restaurant. – Sashimi [fatty tuna, tuna, swordtip , squid, white fish, sea urchin and rice. Nice food but not much of it. – 5200 Yen. [£ 34.00]
