“Amazing Experience 5 ⭐️ ”
Went with my family whilst visiting Kyoto for a few days and enjoyed every skewer from the Kushikatsu set menu. Our waiter Hayato guided us through the dishes and was incredibly friendly and hospitable. He provided explanations for the food and recommended lovely Sake drinks for us. Both locals and... tourists eat here which makes the experience even better. The restaurant is also located on one of the most scenic streets in Kyoto. Would definitely recommend if you are in the area/city.

“Amazing food - overlooks the river”
We stumbled in to this place - and so glad we did. Exquisite delicate tempura skewers that just keep coming of different types of unique vegetables and meats with various dipping sauces. You are guided through the "recommended sauces" in a friendly and intimate way if you sit at the counter like we ...did. We almost sat outside looking out over the river but opted for the counter - and so glad we did. The service was exceptional - more guiding and not overbearing. Highly recommend!

“Amazing food and great ambience”
My husband and I went here by chance browsing for a nice dinner in Kyoto. This place was all we hoped for: Amazing food, friendly staff and a lovely place where you are sat by the counter - as I would recommend you to do if possible. The menu is ended with a lovely dessert and an espresso. This pla...ce really deserves my warmest recommendations.

“Delicious kushikatsu/kashiage”
The people at Hotel Mume recommended this place for us at the last minute on a holiday weekend so we were quite fortunate to get in. We weren't completely confident with the concept of a meal made up of deep fried food but walked away complete converts. The restaurant itself is modern, trendy and ...comfortable. Most seats were at the counter but there were several tables which had a view over the river. The counter is where all the fun is. Basically there is a list of maybe 25 different ingredients and they work through the list in order until you give up. Then you pay for what you have eaten. I got to 15 and Lyn to 12. Neither felt we had overeaten or gone hungry. Plus everyone gets the small dessert (lovely) and coffee. You tell them up front if there are any ingredients you don't like and they skip them. Lovely people, food and place. Good wine list as well as the usuals.

“Wonderful food and fantastic service.”
My husband and I had a great meal here recently for our 40th wedding anniversary. The food was both innovative and intriguing, and the wonderful staff made sure that we had a happy and fun time to remember. The food consists of a variety of tasty morsels that are deep fried, but not greasy or oily..., and presented to you one at a time. You can choose a selection yourself from the menu of around 20 options, or leave the choice up to the chef. Once you have had enough, you simply indicate this to the chef. It comes with a selection of delicious sauces, and the staff will explain to you, which is the best sauce to accompany each tasty skewer. A salad of chunky vegetables and dip, as well as ice cream and coffee, is also included. We had a selection of 12 pre-chosen skewers each, and found this sufficient for our meal. This was a lovely, quirky restaurant and good for a memorable evening of Japanese food.
