“Wagyu style beef par Excellent!”
Two Canadians and two Aussies were walking along an alley in the Giun district looking for their next great Japanese eating experience. A sign boasted best Waygu beef and the posted menu suggested it was worth a try. Wagyu style beef is highly marbled and high in unsaturated fat. Grill your own at t...he table and selection included such beef delicacies as offal, heart, salted beef tongue and fortunately for us less adventurous prime sirloin and ribs. The later two were our choices along with fresh vegetables for grilling, (carrots, peppers, onions, and mushrooms ) as well as a large bowl of rice. Mr. Yamamoto, the proprietor and former highly ranked lightweight boxer, assisted us with our preparation and served both white wine and draft beer in properly chilled glasses. The beef is thinly sliced and grilled for only a minute or two otherwise the fat will cause flare ups. Excellent, delicious, so flavourfully beefy. Each of us expressed our delight and pleasure with the meal and our thanks to daigoro for making our first Waygu beef experience one to remember. the restaurant may be a bit of a challenge to find but from the street enter the small door straight ahead and then go off to the right. It's worth the search.
