“Special effort made for vegetarian!”
Found this great little okonomiyaki restaurant which is very popular with the locals in this neighborhood. Being a vegetarian, I quickly found that there were no vegetarian options on the menu. After a quick chat with the staff, the very kind chef offered to make a cheese and potato okonomiyaki (i...t usually has pork in it) for me. I've never had potato in okonomiyaki and was surprised how delicious it was. In fact, they have a huge range of okonomiyaki and also English menus. This isn't in the most touristy part of Osaka but it's not far from Umeda or Namba. It's within easy walking distance of Hanshin Kujo Station if you're coming from Namba and even closer to the Kujo subway station on the Chuo Line if you're coming from Umeda or Honmachi. For great tasting okonomiyaki, friendly service in a cozy local setting, it's hard to beat Chingu.
