Kushikatsutodashi Kushiemon

This place had good reviews, was listed in a top things to do flyer and was in the middle of a great foodie street. From the outside it looks great, exciting hot plate tables to cool your own food, affordable, English menu and display meals. My partner and I waited quite a while waiting for someone... to take out order while staff stood not far from us not doing much and not responding to our body language, until I called someone over to order and they weren't very friendly. We were under the impression we cooked our own okonomiyaki on the hot plate, as everyone else was and she turned the hot plate on after we ordered. But it came out already cooked and nothing too tasty. We also got a few of the fried skewers which were surprisingly small.

Located in the middle of Shinsekai is this deceptively large restaurant that provides a cooking plate in the center of each table. We had a series of tempura options which were delicious but with the added available sauce. This is an exciting area of Osaka so expect crowds. Every guest that is in...vited inside is greeted by the energetic staff. Service is fast. All of the food options are displayed outside in a display case. A great place for families with small children.

Awesome experience. Make your own Okonomiyaki!! Get the set, it's the best deal and gives you many flavors and local delicacies. Grab a beer, eat lunch, and keep exploring!!
