MEXICAN DINING AVOCADO HOUSE Namba

Visited the place on August 26, ‘23. Not sure why the staff had a good laugh at our expense as soon as we entered. From that moment the tone was kinda set. My wife is half Japanese and overheard them mocking her for placing an order in English instead of Japanese. When she later spoke in Japanese ...there was this particular lady serving us who was visibly surprised when my wife actually started speaking in Japanese. The restaurant looks really nice and appealing if your are into Mexican food and drinks. It’s what got our attention. Such a contrast with some of the staff who visibly didn’t feel like putting their best effort as we’ve grown accustomed to in Japan. (Something we noticed more often in the touristic Namba area) The food was decent but a plate of nachos contained literally 5 to 6 pieces of nachos with some sour creme, guacamole, salsa and beans. The chicken taco tasted good, the ceviche was decent yet contained too ripe avocado with black spots and spotted salad leafs. The time it took to prepare food and drinks was long if you consider our group of four made up for half of the guests at that moment. Drinks were OK. They have a table charge per person that contains free water refills, sauces and use of their facilities. If you don’t order water this fee goes to waste yet the staff doesn’t proactively serves water if not asked for. It took 10 minutes. Weird. After getting 3 little dishes some drinks and a weird vibe we decided to have our ice cream at the Baskin Robbins across the street.

This place is amazing. The food was sooooo good. When it comes to Mexican food, I am hard to please after having authentic Mexican food from San Diego. The food took me back. My husband and I got the fish and jerk chicken tacos. If you want good Mexican food and drinks, try here. You won’t be disa...ppointed.
