“Highly recommended”
In the centre of Kyoto, very close to Pontocho area but much more affordable. The food is good and the staff very nice.

“Tourist friendly dining and bar”
Its a nice place, the setup of the dining is good and there is a number of food choices and drinks which are reasonably priced. There is a sort of door entrance, 300yen/person which will be charged with the bill but it includes a side dish which I found tasty. The place is easy to locate since it is... in the main street of kiyamachi. For foreign travelers I would recommend the place, I don't think all staff can speak English but I can see they put effort in making the English menu which not only includes the price and the name of the dish but also the photos. Very convenient. They also offer different types of drinks (specially a variety of SAKE which is good quality). I was also intrigued by their plum wine near the bar counter, it looks home made. I would like to try it next time I visit.
