“Great Place for Spanish and Italian Food”
If you are traveling in Kyoto and craving Western style food this restaurant is a great choice. I had an excellent glass of Pinot Noir, exquisite french fries that were crisped to perfection and a spanish Champinones Al Ajillo with shrimp. It was pure bliss. The menu includes a varied array of Medit...erranean dishes including pastas, salad and pizza. The service was impeccable and the prices very reasonable. Highly recommend Dining Bar W.

“An oasis of friendliness and delicious food in the middle of Kyoto”
We were made to feel very welcome here by the host who gave us complimentary drinks as he couldn't seat us at a table for 10 minutes (even though there was space for us to eat at the bar and we were just being fussy). Most people in we encountered in Japan were polite, but staff went out of their wa...y to be warm and friendly here as well. The decor is slightly eccentric but the restaurant is very comfortable and the atmosphere buzzy and lively. The food, which was a mixture of Japanese and european food, was a really good standard. I had a stunning four cheese pizza that was thin and crisp and absolutely delicious and my husband had fried chicken and a sesame salad which he said was excellent. We also shared some arancini to start. Everything was tasty, piping hot and not particularly expensive. One of the nicest and most surprising meals I had whilst visiting Japan.

“Horrible”
We were 3, and asked for 3 different menu but as the english of the guy wad not fluent, he meant that one menu was to be shared between the 3 of us.. We were seated on sofa during all the dinner, it was totally uncomfortable. At the we paid 3 menu at 10000 yens, just because nobody undertood what we... wanted. We fell to be literallt abuse. The dinner was not even particularly good,and the price totally scandalous.

“Great surprise restaurant with a view”
We were walking close to Gion Tatsumi Bridge and noticed the great terrace with a view. We went in and made a reservation and we were very happy we did. The food was amazing, the staff was friendly and accommodating and we had a great evening. I read on another review that some people were upset wit...h 500 yen ($5) service charge - we felt it was worth every cent of it!

“Don't go there”
The food is mediocre, service is disgusting, terrible price of 500 just for a place. Overpriced. Awful. Don't go there!!
