Efficient and friendly service. The meal was simple and tasty, exactly what we needed! Air conditioning on a hot day. We were given a sampling of nuts/beans to taste when we sat down. If you like them, you can buy them in the shop.

The white building is a combined souvenir shop and restaurant. Additional restaurant seats are on the second floor. We arrived in Himeji from Kobe and decided to have an early lunch before touring the Castle. The staff seemed nice so we sat down even though no one was dining at the time. We orde...red an udon dish and a oyakodon (rice with scrambled egg, onions and pork over rice). The price is a bit higher for these dishes due to its location across the street from Himeji Castle Park. Our meals were basic and satisfying. The restaurant appears to cater to tour groups evidenced by the staff meticulously setting up the tables next to us as we were finishing up our meals.

After a walk around the Himeji castle in rather warm weather, it was such a comfort to eat their gyudon. The restaurant was partly a shop to buy souvenirs so it was convenient. Their service was fast and the staff were friendly.
