“Japanese pub/bistro concept”
This is located in the covered shopping arcade on a main artery and easy to find. Tables aplenty here with private booth seating as well for drinking parties of friends after a long day at work or sightseeing in the area. Soba is a feature but there are ample small plates of grilled or fried foods o...n the menu as well as a few vegetable options. Lots of Japanese beer flows here although no dark or black varieties. Ordering a whole smelt produced a plate filling grilled whole ( gut intact) fish, larger than we had imagined. The fact that these fish are not cleaned first makes them a little tricky to eat but eat enough of them and you get the hang of it. Cool jazz and some smoky soul music playing in the background makes this a perfect place to sit back and relax over food with friends. The trick is to remember that the inexpensive small plates add up after a couple of beers and the more friends to split the bill, the better.

“Sobs and Pork Cutlet hit the apot”
Cold soba noodles were very nice paired with the pork cutlet. Pork comes atop a savory egg and grilled onion sauce over a bed of rice. The cutlet is tender. Relaxing atmosphere too - lights dimmed a bit, modern decor, and jazz on the stereo. Friendly staff too!

“Nice restaurant with good food in a good location”
The restaurant is easy to find. The food was very good. I suggest you order hot soba rather than cold, but that is a matter of opinion, of course.

“Really good soba”
Chanced upon this restaurant on the way to himeji. Its located along the sheltered shopping street and it was a good meal to have on a hot summer day. the staff were very friendly and attentive. Great dining experience.
