Restaurant 7 EMBERS

We chose the à la carte menu - perhaps the set courses would have been better but we wanted a simple quality meal after a long day travelling. We each ordered a main of scallops and a glass of red. In ordering the scallops I asked about whether it came with vegetables in case we needed to order ...sides and was told it came with peas and cabbage. Each serve arrived with 4 scallops, half a pea pod, one pea and three stamp-sized pieces of cabbage. The scallops were splendid and perfectly cooked but the serving size was an insult at 58,00 yen. Before we had put our knives and forks down and before the plates had been cleared, the menu was thrust at us and we were asked whether we wanted dessert. We said later. The wine had obviously been open some time and we had the last 2 glasses which proved to be barely drinkable. Still hungry we asked for the dessert menu but there was nothing to our taste so we left. Never again.
