“Yummy tempura at reasonable price in central location”
Seemed like a popular place - waited 15 minutes in queue to get seats for dinner. Waitress assured us that the tempura sauce served does not have sake. Yummy tempura sets at reasonable price and attentive service will certainly get us to return.

“An Excellent dinner”
Our tour did not provide dinner while in Kyoto and the tour director recommended the Porta restaurants. After walking the length of the hall, we decided to eat at this one, mostly based on the menu samples in their window. The service was excellent, and the tempura was delivered directly by the chef... himself. Since the chef works behind a window you can walk up and watch him prepare the meals. It was fun to watch. The food was excellent. I recommend them highly.

“delicious, a lot to eat, not to expensive”
My husband and I had dinner in here. I took the Tempura Rice Bowl (Egg, Fish, Shrimp & Vegetables). They are freshly made and very delicious. No disappointment at all. Must try if you love tempura. My husband choose another plate, they fried the tempura 2 by 2 and bring it to your table -> this is a...lso excellent if you can eat a lot. We spent JPY 2500 for both dishese.

“Fantastic little tempura restaurant”
This place was conveniently located at the Kyoto station near our airbnb. It had a really simple menu and amazing food. We ordered the standard set and I also added study boiled egg which was delicious.
