The National Museum of Nature and Science close to Ueno station is the only comprehensive museum of science in Japan that amuses from adults to children. There are a lot of people who never forget the surprise and impression they had here in their childhood. It displays numerous things widely related to natural science and science technology. There are also fossils of ancient orders such as dinosaurs, stuffed specimens of extinct living organisms, and so forth. Furthermore, a lot of things related to science technology - moonrock, rockets, and the Foucault pendulum for instance - are displayed with explanations. In spite of its variety of contents, the admission fee for permanent exhibition is 600 yen for adults and free for high school students and those younger. The restaurant inside has reasonable prices although it is run by a traditional company established in Meiji period.
