“Great unagi!”
Our very first dinner in Nagoya was here as my local friend guide brought us here since we have a craving for unagi (eel). And we were told that the restaurant had a long history and a specialty store for the item and was very popular. The restaurant was nice and had a lovely ambience that reflecte...d the Japanese rich culture. We arrived here slightly past 6pm and the restaurant had a queue formed already but we waited for about 10mins before being ushered to our table in a room. The servers were putting up in traditional kimono costumes. Indeed, traditional and rich in culture. As we just had our late lunch about an hour plus ago, we decided to order more side dishes than main course, except for the unagi rice set, which was a must-order. We ordered chicken kaarage and tempura, cooked in various ways and sauces. The layout and presentation of the dishes were amazing, very neat and orderly and of course nice! And true enough, the unagi was yummy, well marinated and cooked, very fragrant too. And if you are a unagi lover, you will surely fall in love with this dish. The other dishes were nice too, except that they were a little too salty (for me). They were special sauces for each dish and love the yuzhu one most, as the rest were also a little over salty. The green tea was thick and flavourful too! Service was good and staff were efficient in serving the food though they speak very little English (our friend guide helped us order the food). Although it cost more here than other restaurants, it's very worthwhile as the foods were nice and we all enjoyed and loved them!

“Delish unagi with rice”
Location of the restaurant is just beside one of the the entrance of the Atsuta Jingu shrine. Went to the restsurant before visiting the shrine to take a queue number first as I knew the waiting time will be long. I was back slightly earlier than the designated time but was given a seat immediately... and I could see a long queue. Ordered the famous rice set and wait for the food was very long. I was sitting at the counter table and could see the food were being freshly prepared. The set comes with nicely grilled unagi with some condiments and a soup. The unagi is very fresh and tender with crispy skin and the sauce tasted very rich in flavour. The meal was very delicious but considerably expensive for me but since Unagi is a speciality here so i think it's still worth a try.

“locally famous grilled eel bowls”
has long been a coal's favorite, but recently becoming more popular among foreign tourists. their highlight is "Histumabushi" (grilled eel mixed with rice), but I also recommend the plain "Unadon" (grilled eel on rice) to fully enjoy the crisp textures and rich flavor of their sauce.

“A very tasty treat”
This restaurant is located next to the Atsuta Jingu, which is a landmark in Nagoya. Our daughter recommended it to us and we are glad she did. The atmosphere was homely as all the staff worked like a family. As we ate, we could see the kitchen staff busily working away, with great gusto and dedicat...ion. Service was very courteous and genuine. The eel was cooked to perfection and the amount of sauce in the rice was just right. The quantity of food made one feel satisfied without being overfed. I would recommend the 3900 yen set dinner.
