I have eaten at Imonchu many times and have always had a great dining experience there. The restaurant has an amazing atmosphere. It makes you feel like you are in Okinawa. There is always traditional Okinawan music playing at Imonchu. When one enters the restaurant they find themselves walking over... a glass "tiled" floor with beach-like sand underneath. Imonchu also has a great selection of awamori, Okinawa's traditional liquor. The restaurant also serves Orion beer, which is only brewed on Okinawa. The staff at Imonchu are gracious and generally efficient. The restaurant also attracts a classy, well-behaved clientele. The best thing about Imonchu, of course, is the food. It is very, very good. The restaurant offers both traditional Okinawan and "Western" cuisine. My favorite Imonchu dishes include the nikumakionigiri, chicken nanban and basashi (raw horse meat) in a sesame oil sauce. Imonchu is not perfect. The Japanese dishes tend to be a little better than the western ones (like pizza). In addition, the restaurant's popularity means that it can be a little difficult to make a reservation there sometimes. Also, when Imonchu is packed (and it often is) waiters do not always respond to customers' requests as quickly as one would like. Overall, though, the restaurant is marvelous. I look forward to going back there.
