Janjanken

If you had to try some Ramen that was different, unique and got you puzzled would you try it? At first it sounded very strange for me. But....why not? Yeah. "Just do it!" This ramen shop is located on the bottom floor. If you're looking at the station from the Fuji side it's on the left side o...pposite of the bus station. Vending machine is outside of the shop. If you don't understand Japanese there's an English cheat sheet on the upper right. Tells you what each block is. Take a seat at one of many seats facing the Ramen arena and hand it over to the chef. The ramen: I selected the tomato based ramen with cheese. It was a lot better than I expected. The combination of tomato flavors with the noodles and cheese was delicious and well designed. I'd called it a pizza soup. Have your napkin ready. The cheese kinda drips out of your mouth. I thought it might have been a publicity stunt or some kind of fad. The ramen shop was half full. All locals. Glad I gave it a shot and enjoyed the tomato ramen surprise.

Janjanken is a restaurant specializing in ramen, located in Gotemba station (access from the station front). Gotemba is one of the towns that allows to glimpse the mount Fuji, besides having a known outlet (“twin” of New Jersey outlets). The restaurant is quite simple, with the system of choice and ...payment in a panel at the entrance of the restaurant. The food is tasty, although not exceptional. The service is courteous and the cost-benefit ratio is great. It is a good option for those who go to Gotemba.
