Welcome to Fugetsuro, a kaiseki restaurant located in Shizuoka.
The site of the residence that the last Shogun, Tokugawa Yoshinobu lived in.
At the time of our establishment in 1891, The house where Yoshinobu resided has become the Japanese-style restaurant “Fugetsuro.”
Possessing a garden with a refined atmosphere that changes according to each season, it seems like another world despite being inside the city central.
A Japanese traditional restaurant, “Fugetsuro” flourished alongside the prosperity of Shizuoka city after the Meiji Restoration (1868). The house itself was home for Yoshinobu Tokugawa for over 20-years, and after that, it has welcomed guests in Shizuoka for more than 128-years. Just stepping through the door allows the visitor to travel back in time. Nearly 7,000 sq. m. Japanese garden welcomes you with its seasonal beauty; beautiful in spring due to its cherry blossoms, summer due to its lush greenery, and fall due to its magnificent autumnal colors.
