Momijitei

Our travel guide recommended this place to try Hoto noodles (local miso-based hot pot dish originating in Yamanashi. It traditionally contains long, flat, handmade noodles and seasonal vegetables). I tried the Mushroom Hoto (1080 yen/$7.07 US), and it was delicious and full of both fresh mushrooms ...and pumpkin. One order of soup was enough for two people, so I was stuffed.. We also tried the friend chicken which was great as well. They had some spices and sauces on the table which was fun to try. I was excited we were able to sit on the traditional side in which we took our shoes off, and sat at a lower Japanese table. Highly recommend this place!

Excellent hoto noodles served in rich broth. Comes in various options both with meat and without. Thoroughly enjoyed. Be prepared for a wait at rush hour.

An impressive meal at another restaurant in Japan. Local food from Yamanashi Prefecture—authentic Hōtō noodles, incredibly delicious, and beautifully served in an attractive set. You can truly feel the essence of Japan. The staff were very polite, and the experience was delightful. The restaurant is... nestled in beautiful natural surroundings, very clean, and I can't wait to go back again. <3

I suspect these are house-made noodles since I’ve never had commercially produced udon even close to this good. The beef “hotto” and pumpkin “bottom” are both excellent and both dishes had a nice variety of vegetables in an excellent broth. And, this restaurant is spotlessly clean. We will be bac...k the next time we are in the area.

We enjoyed absolutely delicious and very generous servings of hōtō noodles here - mine came with pumpkin and a side serving of tempura, all perfect and very warming after a long walk around Lake Kawaguchiko. Friendly service and a good atmosphere made for an even more pleasant time. Do not miss your... chance to visit and sample authentic local cuisine from the Yamanashi area!
