“Average at Best”
Don’t understand the great reviews. Chef was not very friendly and made no attempt to communicate. Fish was cut small and of average quality. Overpriced. Unfortunate, as I had high hopes going in.

“Excellent and unique sushi experience!”
Excellent. Three of us had the Hida Beef Sushi set that came w/4 Hida beef sushi and a bowl of steamed fish and vegetables. According to the menu, the chef created the steamed sushi bowl. We found it delicious and Excellent quality. We did not even have to wait to be seated. Highly recommend.

“Fabulous Sushi in Authentic setting”
Tricky to find but worth seeking out. This is an authentic Sushi restaurant and the oldest in Takyama 110 years and counting. You can get by in English and the Sushi Sashimi will not disappoint. The master Chef is out front Shouting as he practices his craft, there are also some private dining rooms.... The rest of the family are knowledgeable servers who will help with techniques and ordering. They are meticulous pounding their own Miso by hand. Highly recommended.
