We traveled from Kyoto to Nagoya just for trying this restaurant unagi. It was a rainy day so not much outdoor activities to be enjoyed. We decided to take Shinkansen to visit Nagoya. For the convenience, we picked this place. It was the best unagi I’ve had. The eel was grilled to perfection tha...t the skin was crispy, you can’t taste any fishy taste, the meat was perfect, the sauce was great. I ordered the miso soup. But I liked the clear soup much better. So if you prefer a lighter flavor, don’t spend extra money to get miso soup, the clear soup that came with the set will be great. I strongly recommend this place if you are an unagi fan!

We loved the eel rice here, that we went back for 2nd round. Well grilled, fragrant aroma from the grill, and bones melted.

Heard lots of good stories about this restaurant, my family and I happened to be at the train station around 3:45pm and we didn’t have lunch. So we thought it must be a good time to visit as there “shouldn’t” be a line ...but NOT... we still had to wait for 30-40 mins for a table. So we ordered unag...i rice set. The eel was very nicely grilled as there is a taste of charcoal on the skin and with the sauce, it was great ! But other than that it’s just rice, soup blah that’s it. Maybe I have tried it so it’s easy for me to say yeah it’s good but don’t think it worth the wait... try it and let me know your thoughts =)

Unbeatable. Just can’t resist the taste of it. The charcoal-grilled flavour was just right, elevating the freshness and sweetness of the unagi meat. Expect extremely long queue during weekends.
