“Italian with attitude, Japanese style”
It was a bit of a major effort to get to Ristorante Al Porto last night (12th May) because we were in the middle of a typhoon, the streets were flooded and our umbrellas failed to hold back the rain. But it was worth it. Al Porto offers Italian ingredients with Japanese flair. A style of food tha...t is hard to describe but the taste sensations matched with Italian wines (or Japanese beer) are just out of this world in deliciousness. We (there were 7 of us)had 5 courses - an apetizer; Deep fried shrimp and vegetables; Spaghetti cavege and dried mullet roe; Poeler of seabeam; Dessert. The waitering service was superb, unobtrusive but at your side the moment you wanted another drink. There are many eating establishments in Shizuoka - it is hard to choose where to go because the variety is huge - but this is a Ristorante I will be coming back to.
