“Standard tonkatsu restaurant specializing in Miso Katsu”
This location is conveniently in the underground Esca arcade right next to the Nagoya station. We came at lunch time and had to wait, but the line moved quite quickly. This is not a restaurant for lingering or conversation, they are designed for fast in-fast out. They came and took our orders while ...we were still waiting in line. We picked the standard miso katsu, and one person ordered the premium meat miso katsu. The premium seemed to have a fattier cut, for those that like the fattier cuts. The menu has excellent pictures and the pictures are very accurate for showing what you'll get. The katsu was a bit on the greasy side, not as lightly deep fried as katsu can be. They pour the miso sauce over the katsu at the table after your order is brought. One of the choices is to get half miso sauce and half Worcestershire sauce. The pork with miso reminded me a bit of chasu pork, a little smoky and sweet. The miso katsu seemed quite standard to me, nothing special about either the taste, the sauce, or the katsu. Katsu speciality shops have better tonkatsu. In fairness, this may be because the miso sauce flavoring was not to my personal taste, but I was a bit disappointed. This was my first time eating miso katsu, and maybe the store is a good representative of the dish and just not to my palate. The store has a very simple diner interior and service is very fast. Not recommended for atmosphere. The price did not seem particularly good for tonkatsu, as there are other katsu specialty shops with better katsu for better prices.

“Great Miso Tonkatsu”
As other's have said, this is a very casual place and it get's crowded and it's very likely to share a table. We went for early dinner and didn't have to wait in line. The service was fast and courteous as usual in Japan. I love tonkatsu, but this miso tonkatsu is even better than the more tradition...al one for my taste, because the red miso sauce is less sweet and more complex. Also, the miso sauce is served hot. (The waiter pours the sauce over the tonkatsu). I don't like fatty cuts, so the Hire Tonkatsu (fillet) was perfect. They have ice-cold nonalcoholic beer, besides regular beer.

“Amazing taste and place in the original branch, I want a branch in London”
My first time trying here and I loved it so much, the staff were fast. Space was a little tight to be honest. I wish they would make a branch in London to be honest. Was for Oct 2016.

“Sauce is Good but Pork is Tough”
We came for dinner on Sunday, December 29 and boy was it crowded. We stood in line and even at 8 pm, we had to wait 30 minutes for a table. They have English menus and we ordered before you are seated. We ordered the Prime Rib Pork Teppan Tonkatsu for 1900 yen. We shared one portion. It was q...uite a large portion. The sauce is good but the pork is tough and not easy to chew. Thought it was quite pricey for the portion we got.
