Nihonryori Takadahasshoh

We enjoyed unique Kaiseki style cuisine in a private tatami room and had an experience that would be impossible to achieve outside of Japan. We booked the Yen 15,000/person meal and it greatly exceeded our expectations - the courses were all delicious and featured seasonal and local ingredients. The... emphasis was on seafood and fish, but meat courses can also be requested. Unlike some Kaiseki I have had, I did not feel at all hungry after our meal - there were many courses and more than enough food! The sake choices are also delicious. We also had the pleasure of speaking with the chef and owner, Mr. Takada, who has had a brilliant culinary career including cooking for banquets at Japan's embassies in Europe and Russia. This meal was business related in that the three of us who went are colleagues who were in Gifu for discussions with a potential supplier. This restaurant is very suitable for high level business entertainment but also for special occasions and just for experiencing Japan's Kaiseki cuisine. We are looking forward to our next visit!
