Gourmand

We noticed this place as we were exploring Shizuoka and saw plenty of locals going in, so thought we’d give it a try. In the evenings, this place is more of a bistro, but during the day it serves some amazing curry and rice dishes. I had Japanese curry and rice, and my wife had pork curry with a Tha...i curry and rice. Both dishes were superb and we also ordered a bottle of Chablis. We didn’t find this any more expensive than a bottle we’d have in a western restaurant and it was beautifully chilled. They have a very good selection of quality wines to choose from. The atmosphere was relaxing with soothing jazz music playing and the owner was very friendly and made suggestions for our meal and was interested that we enjoyed the whole experience. I’d really like to go back if we had the time. I highly recommend this restaurant!
