“Even better than those big names for their unagi”
Located in a side-street, this unagi restaurant is not exactly easy to find, but would worth your while to search it out. It is not a big restaurant but got good lighting and comfortable seating, and before entering you can see the chef grilling from the big window. There is a tank with live unagi,... showing how fresh and good they are, which is certainly one of their signature. The regular portion is already good for most people. The unagi is grilled perfectly, with the sauce just right in savory and taste to bring out the best of the unagi without feeling heavy. There are the traditional three styles for enjoying the unagi. But one special piece is that this restaurant offers an egg to mix with soy sauce as one of the styles. That turn out to be my favorite as well. But for someone who won't eat raw egg that may not be their choice. We ordered some sashimi as well which are also good and fresh. The restaurant has a wide range of sake to choose too. The services are nice and friendly, and they are also very helpful to get me a cab to return to my hotel. The chef/owner(?) also went out to the street to try to find one. Considering it was quite cold outside, it is another example of how this restaurant treated their customers. Another big compliment on that. Overall I feel very satisfied with this dinner, and later on when I tried the other famous unagi restaurant in Nagoya, I have to say this one is of better quality too. So definitely my recommendation for someone who like unagi.
