“Authentic Grilled Eel”
Saw this restaurant listed as one of the top restaurants in Nagoya serving authentic Hitsumabushi (grilled eel)😋 It was my husband’s birthday and we are not aware that reservation has to be made in advance(thru phone). We were leaving Nagoya the next day so I politely asked the owner if he could co...nsider giving us a table for dinner. He did not hesitate to accommodate us and we were so happy! He was so friendly🙂 Ambience was great. Nice tatami room. Plenty people. Now we know why - because their freshly grilled eel was very very good! It was served with hot miso soup and rice. The owner even gave my husband a tamago cake (with grilled eel inside)👌😊 So worth it! Thank you very much!

“Unagi Nagoya style- must try ”
This quaint family owned and run restaurant serving freshly grilled unagi. I highly recommend to get the authentic grilled Nagoya style unagi. You should line up before 11am for lunch because they run out of unagi which usually happens.

“Nagoya authentic Unagi don”
Meltting eels in the mouth with rice and unagi sauce. The soup is also from eels with eel's liver. 😋 the price is undervalued. Recommend to have beer along as blending with eels grilled. I love this traditional restaurant more than luxurious and modern. The owner cannot speak much english but has en...glish menu or can look from outside.

“A long wait... but totally worth it.”
We got here at 11:15 in the morning and there was already a pretty long line; the staff told us it would take about an hour to be served. In the end our meal arrived at about 12:30. The place is extremely popular so you really have to wait, but they do an excellent rendition of the signature Nagoya ...dish, unagi-mabushi (AKA hitsumabushi). A bit steep at 3000 yen, and the wait is long, but the quality and quantity of the food make it completely worth it. Enjoyed every bite. Two caveats though: (1) I hear this place is often sold out by dinnertime, so plan to come at lunch, and (2) you probably want to find out the suggested way of eating hitsumabushi before going. I don't recall if they have an English menu, but anyway - just order the unagi-mabushi. You won't regret it.

“We were fully satisfied.”
They could take our booking. They say "it depends on time". We reserved at 19:00. That was good for us. Because the eels were sold out soon, after we ordered the eel Unagi-mabushi. It was very delicious.A large quantity of eels, sweet sauce,Kimosui (a clear soup with eel guts), pickles are all good. ... They close the restaurant at 20:00 usually, but when the eels were sold out, they close. So please go early or make a reservation. The furniture in the restaurant,it looks good.We are relieved. You can choose tatami mat seats and the chair seats. We chose the chair seats close to the entrance. You can see that several eels are skewered, basted with sauce and broiled. I wish when we eat opens up a little more late.
