“Best Restaurant in Takayama”
This was recommended by the retail shop across the road - Hida Gallery. We would thoroughly recommend this restaurant for its 5 star intimate experience: 1. Amazing prompt & friendly service 2. Great menu choice for food & beverage 3. Very professional chef in view of guests who took much pride... in his work and an immaculately clean kitchen. 4. Beautifully presented meals The girls menu choices were: Tasty fresh salad, yummy potato & radish soup, smoked salmon with special dressing, grilled snapper, & Catalana for dessert The men had the Hida beef tepanyaki grilled set menu which included salad, dessert & tea/coffee. They have claimed it is the most tender steak they have ever had. To complement our meal, we chose a delicious South African Chenin Blanc - Wild Olive. This restaurant would be hard to beat in Takayama. Any language problems were sorted with google translate.

“Wonderful Little Restaurant”
On a very chilly evening it was lovely to walk into this warm and friendly restaurant. Staff have good English and we were offered an English menu. The menu offers both set meals and al a carte. We chose a set meal: a substantial and flavourful salad which included quail eggs and shrimp, Hida be...ef steak and almond and blackcurrant sorbet followed by coffee. Everything was cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.

“Melt in your mouth Hida Beef stew! ”
This hidden gem was truly a great find! The Hida Beef stew was cooked to perfection with melt in your mouth beef. We also got the Hida Beef set which was super worth it as it came with a beautiful salad, tea & ice cream (vanilla & caramel!). Everything was meticulously made with depth of flavors, ev...en down to the grilled vegetables. Highly recommended!

“A Real Gem”
Fantastic experience. My wife and I sat at the chef’s table. We enjoyed the chateau Briand. The Hilda beef is so tender that it melted in your mouth. It was served with a wonderful salad consisting of multiple vegetables. We drank a Bordeaux wine. Service was superb. This restaurant is one of the be...st that we experienced during our 2 weeks in Japan.
