“Fail”
We had Houtou for lunch in the city centre which was awesome, but the Houtou here was only ok. We walked in because it was the only restaurant open close by. The service was really bad. We wanted to share one dish but they refused to give us a second spoon. We had some chicken skewers as a side dish... which we didn’t like. If you haven’t tried this regional dish before, we recommend to go to another place or you will be disappointed.

“Houtou and soba”
Houtou is a local dish of Yamanashi prefecture. Miso broth with home made thick flat noodles and various fillings. They also serve soba/udon but not sushi (as Tripadvisor mistakingly says). OK place/food. No English spoken. Basic English menu. Traditional Japanese sitting.
