“Absolutely delicious - go there!”
Oh my goodness! We had dinner here tonight as we had no idea where to go in Nagoya, so had a quick look at Google maps and found this place. So glad we did - we had the traditional Hitsumabushi and it was absolutely delicious. The service was very friendly as well, and they have English translation... so all good. Probably the best meal we’ve had in Japan so far. Loved it!

“Must-try while in Sakae”
This was recommended to us by our hotel. As a big fan of unagi, I knew I had to try hitsumabushi whilst in Nagoya. The restaurant was cozy, clean, and had a variety of eel-based dishes to try. I got the hitsumabushi set and my mom opted for a lighter rice bowl. Both were EXCELLENT. The eel was fresh..., with a beautiful char from the grill making the skin crispy. The broth served with my meal was delicious, even on its own. Portions are generous. You order via a tablet on the table and we couldn't find a way to change language to English. We used a translation app to help sort us out. We also didnt have a reservation but we did walk in at an odd time (5pm) so we were seated immediately without a wait.

“A Taste of Tradition: Hitsumabushi at Mugani (Nagoya, Japan)”
On my first visit to Nagoya (#nagoyaisnotboring), I had the chance to try eel for the very first time in my life. We ordered ひつまぶし (hitsumabushi), and it was absolutely delicious! The dish was flavorful, beautifully presented, and felt truly special. What really stood out, though, was the exception...al customer service. The staff were friendly, accommodating, and incredibly patient with us despite our rusty Japanese. They made the experience even more memorable. I definitely recommend Mugani to anyone visiting Nagoya! #NagoyaEats #NagoyaFood #Hitsumabushi #munagi #MuganiNagoya #JapanTravel #名古屋グルメ #ひつまぶし #うなぎ #名古屋旅行 #ムガニ #日本旅行
