“Like tapas”
This is a great little venue for drinks and small plates. Seating is in booths and can be private thanks to sliding doors. You may be able to hear that party of four coworkers in the next booth laughing over drinks and jokes, but you won't see them. There is a cover charge but "free" salad comes bef...ore your order and miso soup at the end and you can have a second dish of salad on the house as well. Think small though because that is key. Sit back, order some sake or beer and a round of plates to share. We tried the grilled beef tongue which was surprisingly delicious. The salmon with rice in green tea was perhaps the largest serving of anything we ordered and very good. Chicken livers were lightly pan sautéed and served cold. Chicken meatballs with cheese and a raw egg yolk were an adventure but not a table favorite. Of course there is sashimi and miso coated French fries. Keep in mind that while prices are low they do add up over the course of an evening. Menus in English and service in partial English make this an easy place to relax and enjoy. Better yet, the train station is an easy amble away.
