Teppanyaki Hama Shinjuku

I had a fantastic solo dining experience at Hama Teppanyaki. The food was excellent, with high quality Wagyu cooked perfectly right in front of me and real attention to flavour and detail. The chefs were skilled but also genuinely friendly and welcoming, which made the atmosphere relaxed rather tha...n formal. As a solo traveller, I felt completely comfortable at the counter and actually think teppanyaki is ideal when dining alone. It is dinner and a show in one. The restaurant is in a slightly unexpected location, which adds to the charm and makes it feel like a hidden gem. Definitely worth seeking out for a memorable Tokyo meal.

Amazing food. Great taste aside, I didn't expect the food items to be presented nicely on our plates as well. While generally not a big fan of Wagyu, (preferred the abalone and lobster) all the dishes were delicious, from appetizer to desert, which was also made from scratch. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the best last night in Tokyo - loved watching the craft of preparation of our meal and talking to the chef. All the staff were so helpful. Salmon looked so good that we changed our menu choice once this. The eggplant in miso was delicious in fact it was all so tasty.

Found this restaurant through Trip Advisor and we were very pleased. Found the building easily enough with Google Maps, accessed by lift. Only a small restaurant so book to be certain. Food was exceptional and staff friendly. Lovely experience, Top Chef who clearly takes pleasure in hos work. Don’t ...miss this for great food and an authentic experience
