“Super friendly, great food”
On festival night we arrived at this small Izakaya with a gourmet pretense. It's close to the Samurai District and it boasts a couple that go out of their way preparing good food with a smile. If like us you want to go off the beaten track, try to find this one, it'll be worth your trouble. Lots of ...Japanese eat here. Single parents with a kid, couples. Must be because of the food.

“Surprisingly good restaurant ”
We just walked by and got in. They don't speak English, but with internet translation we got to manage to get a wonderful "chefs menu". 15 dishes, all surprisingly tasteful and made with care. We recommend it to you all, although it is a bit of the beaten track.

“A great small place!”
Just near Kanazawa Samurai District, when we were about to return to our hotel, we saw a small local bar. We were a bit hungry so we went in. There was no English menu but the young woman at the bar had a nice English. At first we ordered pizza and two beers, since we were short on cash with us and ...wanted to go for something sure. There were two people working at the bar. A young lady and another young man who wworked at the kitchen. They asked us if we were hungry. Surprised by the odd question we answered yes. What happened next was a first time for us and explained their question. They just gave us dish after dish, wanting us to try all sorts of Japanese food and to be full I guess. They gave us beef, salad, miso soup with crab legs, something made out of bamboo, rice with fish and sake. The food was great and we were definitely full! The staff was really amazing and friendly, the vibe of the place was really great and the food was good and not expensive. Even if they don't give you free food, (what are the odds?haha) this place is definitely recommended!
