“Really fresh food!”
This place is a little off the beaten track and - as others have said - it can be a little quiet; we visited on a Tue evening and there was only another party. Never mind the quiet atmosphere; the food is what we came for and it was very nice indeed, even by excellent Japanese standards. We went b...y the recommended dishes from the English menu (marked with a *R) and weren’t disappointed. The sushi was absolutely superb but the I’m tempted to say the best was the avocado salad.

Very nice traditional Japanese Restaurant. Fresh product, excellent and surprising tastes. We really enjoyed it !

“Cozy, quiet izakaya/diner”
Feel a little bit tired of too lively sounds of Izakaya; go to Kusunoki. Same diverse small dishes with fish or vegies with matching sake. Try three different kinds of sake. The night belongs to you, you might feel.

“Excellent food”
The dinner was excellent and original, the chef attentive and the staff friendly, the place empty (a little bit hard to find)

“Hot pot lunch”
Taken here by a Japanese friend who had already booked the lunch course. Turned out we had the place to ourselves! The owner chef was friendly but kept his distance. Sashimi was fantastic but the cod milt (shirako) was an unexpected surprise! Not cheap at around ¥3000 per person but an enjoyable K...anazawa lunch.
