Daigo

Our party of four tried Daigo on the recommendation of Ty (the Machiya Residence Inn person who checked us in) and were not disappointed. Aided by their English menu, we must have ordered almost a dozen small plates — to include potato salad, sake-steamed clams, fried lotus with minced beef stuffin...g (the standout dish of a standout meal), soy grilled mackerel, tsukune [chicken meatballs], shrimp croquettes, and tamago [rolled omelette] in a light dashi broth. As Daigo displays several hundred sake bottles throughout the restaurant, we asked our server to recommend something easy drinking to us and he succeeded brilliantly, matching us up with a smooth daiginjo. Not a wrong foot was placed the entire meal. Would definitely return and recommend to others.
