“Delicious dinner!”
We didn’t make any dinner reservation on Saturday night so got kicked out by several good restaurants consecutively. Luckily we got a table here in the end. All the food and drinks that we ordered were good! I usually can’t drink any alcohol but their century-old plum wine on the rock was so good!... Don’t miss the dessert - wasanbon sugar pudding which was the best pudding that I ever had! They also provide a very detailed English menu! Good ambiance and with good jazz music. No-smoking area so we could fully enjoy the dinner without catching any stink. Just perfect! Highly recommend this place!

“The worst meal ever ”
We went in because very tired of going around looking for a restaurant. All nice places were already fully booked and when we found this one that appered nice from outside we decided to give a try. We checked the comments on tripadvisor and, as most of the places around, there were only few comments... (only 3!) but all excellent... it was a bit bizar....but we decided to be positive. HUGE MISTAKE! It was quite terrible dinner. And also a bit expensive for the little food we 'd got. We lost the chance of having some special food of the area for the only night we spent in kanazawa. What a pity! We ordered the small brochettes of chicken (5 pcs) but we were not happy with the kind of meet we got. Fried tofu (2 pcs) far too oily. Grilled vegetables too oily again and nothing special. Beer and coke. For about 5000 yen in total.

“Excellent food and service”
We just returned from a wonderful meal at Suminoko. We went in because the menu seemed interesting and was presented in English as well as Japanese. Some of the offerings seemed interesting so we ordered a variety of entrees, and all were superb. The flavors were rich but not overpowering, and th...e portions allowed us to enjoy several different offerings. We highly recommend this restaurant

“Fabulous Izakaya-style Food”
Happened across this gem of a restaurant late in the evening and went in because they had an English menu. We had the best meal of our entire trip to Japan. Traditional Japanese dishes were mixed with modern, international flavors and techniques. They had a widely varied menu with plenty of option...s for everyone including the vegetarian with us. Everything we had was spectacular. This restaurant should be a first-choice for anyone visiting Kanazawa.
