It was our first experience eating Oden, the staff were very friendly and helpful. They helped us with our selections. As noted in the other reviews, there was a line up but it moved quickly. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable.

Was looking for a place to have dinner. Googled and found this place. Its at the back of the department store. There was nice bonito smell from the soup coming out of the restaurant. Nice and hot oden on a cold night.

A very local restaurant. People sitting around a bar table like desk & order food bit by bit. I like the atmosphere & the food. They serve alcohol like beer & sake, & you can smoke inside the restaurant.

Found this place courtesy of Delicious Destinations (Andrew Zimmern show). Disappointed smoking was allowed inside. For some reason we we seated at a table instead of at the counter where it could've been more exciting to watch the action. Limited English speaking staff. At the time we went befo...re dinner time rush, a lot of options were not ready and needed another hour of cooking (at least that's what I think the waitress means). We still managed to find options to choose from.

This shop is in restaurant street inside Kanazawa JR station, easy access for everyone staying near the station. It also means that lots of customers during lunch/dinner hours. This is not the only reason to go there early, the main one is to order duck stew before running out. Duck stew is called 鴨...の治部煮 in Japanese, which is a famous local traditional dishes in Ishikawa region (石川県). We went there for lunch twice and couldn't order it even once. It was possibly the only regret we got in our trip. Having said that, the dishes we ordered, such as oden (おでん) or set lunch (すじ鍋定食, 白山定食), all were very delicious, so don't be disappointed if you cannot get duck stew like me ...
