“Don't miss out on this incredible culinary experience!”
Mozem Soba is run by a husband and wife team out of their modest home in a quiet rural hillside area and boasts a total of 3 wooden tables with benches. We went for lunch and opted for a set menu of 3,500 yen per person. The simple, rustic setting acted as a perfect complement to the 6 inventive and... refined courses to which we were treated. Our gourmand hosts had gathered many of the ingredients from the local woods and hills, and had sourced others from fishers and farmers on Sado; even the shoyu was homemade! The owners provided us with a fulsome description of each dish, which further enhanced the meal. The liquor selection is limited but well curated, and includes some very limited edition sake and umeshu. Reservations are required a day in advance. Don't be surprised if yours is the only table occupied. Note that only Japanese is spoken, but you'll easily be able to get a bi-lingual person on Sado to help you out in making the arrangements.
