“Stopped for a drink and stayed for dinner ”
I was in Dogo Onsen for a family/group tour and was staying a few streets down. Originally, I planned just a quick pit stop at Bakushukan but the atmosphere, drinks, and eats kept me for the entire meal. They had English language food & drink menus. The staff were helpful. I had the sparkling sake ...which was bubbly and slightly sweet. Perfect for non-beer drinkers. For dinner I combined a few bar snacks- edamame, octopus with wasabi, tomato salad, and fried chicken. Two thumbs up!

“Friendly little bar with nice beers and great fish cakes!”
Visited this little bar which is right next to Dogo-onsen on a rainy day, was drew in by the reviews and we were clearly not disappointed. It offers great snacks to go along with their draft beers and some rice entrees if you craving for more than just a snack. We ordered their most famous fish cake...s and 2 draft beers, and it turned up great. Staffs are friendly with decent level of English proficiency. Strongly recommended!

“Good place to have a drink after bath”
This place is located just next to Dogo-Onsen Honkan. After taking a bath, or stroll around the area, this is an ideal place to have something to eat and drink. They have local beer and sake, so if you would like to try any of those, this is the place. We are not really beer lovers, but we ordered t...wo kinds of beer for each in a glass size. My favorite one was Madonna Beer (alt-beer). If you cannot drink all those, do not worry. You can buy a bottle of those at the airport before you leave Matsuyama.

“Great choice right next to Dogo Onsen”
The tonkatsu set (1350 yen )was great and filling. People were nice. Decent price.0 I wohld go back again!

“Only if everyone drinks beer or sake”
We were in Dogo Onsen and knew that there was a local craft beer & sake brewery, so we went to the brewery restaurant. I tried to order a beer, but because my wife doesn't drink any of the things on offer, our order was refused - everyone that goes in has to order something. As it was pouring with ...rain, I wasn't prepared to have my wife wait outside while I drank a glass of beer, so we left. What a shame. The place was far from full, so I can't see why this attitude was necessary. By comparison, how great was the craft brewery outlet in Matsumoto, where my wife was offered a free glass of water while I drank their excellent beer.
