Daikanrou

We really wanted to try out one of the restaurants that spezialise on eel and decided on this one. As tourists with barely any knowledge of Japanese we were happy that there were at least a few people on the staff that spoke decent English. That was also quite helpful when choosing the food although... they also have an English menu. The restaurant itself has a very classic Japanese design which we enjoyed a lot. Interesting feature was that the floors under the tables were heated. The food itself was grest, we very much enjoyed all the items we ordered. Pricewise it was one of our more expensive meals in Sendai, but for European standards still quite cheap. The staff was outstandingly friendly and really tried their best. Would gladly return if the occasion fits.

If you like unagi (river eel) this is an excellent choice to enjoy this delicacy. It is first steamed and then grilled with a very typical semi-sweet sauce. It is served on rice with some savory goodies on the side and of course osumashi soup. Recommended.
