“Excellent Italian disguised as a tourist trap”
Afraid of the place being a tourist trap, I did not want to go in. But the place I wanted to go to was booked up, so I gave Artichoke a try. It’s good that I did; hiding under the 3/3 beat accordion music and kitschy décor was a real Italian restaurant. They served homemade bread and olive oil with ...a touch of basil and hot pepper. The bread was lightly toasted and had a nice, chewy texture. I tried the mussels with garlic for a starter. They were served flamed. Showboating aside, they were very good and had a nice pesto accent. There were many, many items to choose from and I finally settled on Spaghetti Bolognese for my main course. It was, in a word, perfect. The pasta was cooked al dente and the Bolognese sauce was delicious and had a bit of a fiery bite to it. Wonderful. I was done at around 8pm, and I noticed that every table in the place was occupied, and I was the only tourist! So be sure to book ahead if you can.

“classy italian restaurant of all time in Akita”
the atmosphere was created by kind of authentic italian restaurant. many italian menu which was never familiar to me. i tried it some and tasted so good
