“Stop here first when you arrive in Sendai!”
A friend recommended this to me when I first visited Sendai, and I wasn't disappointed 😂 It's a great location to grab lunch if you've just taken the morning shinkansen from Tokyo and are planning to explore Sendai in the afternoon. Be prepared to wait to get a seat for lunch though - always a good ...sign for a restaurant! (BTW - ignore the "October 2020" visit date - my last visit was in August 2019, but TripAdvisor doesn't go back that far...)

“Excellent Delicious Gyutan Roasted Beef Tongue”
Gyutan in Sendai is very famous for tasty roasted beef tongue. I had to wait for about 20 minutes in a long line outside the restaurant, but was worthwhile for waiting. Gyutan was excellent and very delicious with juicy beef with tail soup and rice.

“Mouthwatering grilled beef tongue set meal”
Smells great, taste good! Chewy beef tongue with a slight charred taste from Sendai, the city famous for beef tongue or gyutan. We ordered a 1.5 pax meal set for about 2,400 Yen and it is certainly of excellent value.

“Delicious Protein ”
This place definitely makes great grilled beef tongue! I am not the many who find the thought of eating beef tongue disgusting. It is almost pure protein after all. And it taste so good grilled with a pinch of salt as seasoning. I do not know how they actually prepare my order. If not for limiting m...y protein intake I would have ordered a second helping!

“Beef Tongue (Gyutan)”
Grilled, pan-fried, or in soup. Beef tongue is a local Sendai delicacy. It's has a really nice and chewy texture. Yet it is soft. Not fatty in any way, pure muscle. A must try dish whenever you are in Sendai.
