“suprisingly kid friendly”
We have gone a few times now, with young kids in tow. At first, I was not sure an izakaya (Japanese equivalent of a pub or tapas style bar) would allow kids, but not only were they allowed, they even have a special room for families! The room has a play space with a some books, toys and even a small... slide as well as a separate video for kids. The table itself is equipped with a karaoke machine. As for the food, it is fairly standard izakaya fare for this chain. We enjoyed the sashimi and karaage (Japan's version of friend chicken morsels). There were also kids' menus which came with smaller portions and a small toy. The drink menu includes cocktails, beer, and of course, sake, but oddly , they did not feature any local sake (except for one from the neighboring prefecture of Miyagi). The restaurant is near the Sunroute Hotel, as well as the night club district of the Omachi area of Kamaishi.
