“Local Chicken”
Wanted to try the local chicken dishes and decided to visit this place as it was within walking distance from hotel. They have English menu and set courses starting from 2500y. We ordered the basic set which included 5 items (only 1 skewer), but portion were a bit small. We decided to ordered extra... skewers to try out the various taste. Overall, if you like grill skewers please go ahead and try. They are pretty salty, might be the local taste buds or maybe they want you to drink more beer n sake. The average price of a skewer was between 350-450y each. Service and restaurant ambience was nice and comfortable. Food was tasty.

“Rip off”
Over priced and sneaky appertizer price hidden on the bottom of the back page- not optional. Looking through the menu it is made up of all the cheaper cuts of chicken- but at fillet prices.

“Nice atmosphere, but.. well, tough chicken”
Local free range Hinai chicken is the calling card for this restaurant, which is not far from the Castle Hotel. But it’s a bit hidden away. They have a wide variety of chicken parts on the skewers, typical for a yakitori place, and they have many other chicken items besides yakitori. There’s an Engl...ish menu available. I tried a number of yakitori skewers and they were all good. Skin, tail, thigh, and many more. Some of the items were a bit tough, though, hard to bite through and too large to take in one bite… The taste was good, but nothing special. Some of these free range birds have grown a bit tough, I think. The place was hopping and is obviously very popular. It’s a good vibe. It was fun to sit at the counter and watch the prep and cooking action, and the service was very good. Honestly, though, I have had many better yakitori elsewhere. Trying Hinai chicken was a “box tick” of sorts and it was a little disappointing. I wanted to like it more, but the toughness and no special taste overcame that desire.

“Well worth a visit”
Small but busy restaurant specialising in local chicken. The menu is available in English, and the staff were all very attentive and welcoming. The food was very good indeed, and the open kitchen is always nice to see, especially when the chef is taking such great care with the food he is preparing.... Well worth the very short walk out to find (look out for the pictures of happy chickens over the entire front of the restaurant)
