Kaku

Kaku restaurant is a popular name when it comes to gyutan (grilled tongue) in Miyagino, Sendai and you'll surely see a couple of branches around town. During our visit to Sendai, it was their tongue stew and grilled tongue which really stood out from the rest, that's why I decided to include it in m...y list. Even if I lined up and waited for an hour, it doesn't matter. It is really worth the wait. You have to try it yourself! I swear, it's really good!

Came at lunch time, ordered lunch set with 6pcs of grilled gyutan and not disappointed. The appetizer was a stew beef tongue which so tender and delicious. We loved it so much and decided to came back for dinner. Ordered beef tongue topped with green onions, so tasty with a little bit of sour sauce ...which a perfect combination in your mouth. English menu is available.

Much better beef tongue compared to other tongue specialists in Sendai Station Also order tomato salad. So sweet and juicy, perfect pairing to the salty grilled beef tongue

Excellent in tongue grilled to perfection. Every dish they serve is done with passion which you can taste. The staffs are friendly with very limited English. There is a picture with a picture of all the dishes that are numbered. Walk up to it and point what you want. I would not pass the tomato! Nev...er thought tomato can taste so nice. Order some sake as well to complement the meal. This place allows smoking.
