“The best sushi in town.”
An amazing sushi experience. The best fish in Tohoku is in Shiogama and the best sushi in town is at Sushitetsu. The fish is wonderful and expertly treated, the staff moves as in a ballet, always smiling and friendly, the customer is carefully pampered. Prices the most honest. Unmissable and unforge...ttable.

“Good reasonably priced sushi and a friendly atmosphere and certainly family owned. We just got the basic assorted sushi”
Really good and friendly local place and reasonably priced. Definitely a family run operation and we were the only non-Japanese guess. But an enjoyable experience all around.

“The world’s best sushi.. bar none!”
The best sushi on earth! I used to live in Miyagi in the 90s and frequented this place. I thought it was easily the freshest and loveliest sushi. I worried I’d built it up in my mind, I recently returned to Miyagi and visited… IT IS THE BEST! It harks back to a time when sushi was an art form. ... The same sushi master and his apprentices are there. More than 25 years waiting for a move up the sushi master ladder, shows the kind of commitment and mastery required. The seafood is so lovely the fresh fish seems to melt into your mouth, It will ruin you for sushi elsewhere.

“Good quality”
Great experience! Very good quality with these prices. Friendly staff. We needed to wait around an hour, so prepare to have some time for waiting if you go in the evening.

“Freshest, tastiest sushi ever...”
Pop into Sushitetsu on the way back from Matsushima Bay to Sendai after seeing the great reviews. Short queue to get in (about five mins) at around 1300 on a Monday. A family run enterprise led by a true master who has clearly been applying his art for for a very long time. Ordered the top set wit...h fish miso soup. Sushitetsu is not for the impatient; 20 minutes of preparation whilst drinking tea and watching the team at work led me to great anticipation of what was to come: A visual sight for the eyes with such immaculately prepared pieces I almost felt guilty eating them. A truly wonderful meal - quality incomparable. The fatty tuna and eel my personal favourites, so fresh that it’s difficult to describe just how great they taste. Certainly not cheap but less than half the price you’d pay in London or New York and considerably cheaper than in Tokyo. Combine with a trip to the islands and the Shiogama shrine, Sushitetsu shouldn’t be missed.
