Nihonryori Rintaroh

We had dinner here. As other posters have noted, the entrance is a little hard to locate but the restaurant interior is quite spacious and modern, with well-spaced tables, a long bar/counter and private room(s). We were offered six-, eight- or nine-course menus. All were predominantly fish/seafood ...although the nine-course menu also included a beef dish. There was a good range of sake by the glass so we were able to try various kinds. Service was a little stiff but this we attributed to limited English-speaking wait staff. At the time we were there, the restaurant had a Michelin star ( still does?) and the dinner prices reflected that. However, overall, excellent quality and a very enjoyable meal.

We asked the Westin for recommendations and then went to the closest place. It is right behind the hotel but it is a bit unobtrusive and we had to search a bit before we realized we walked right by it. What a nice discovery! The food was amazing. There are a few set menus you can choose from or al a... carte we went with the smaller short menu. It was a beautiful and delicious experience and some of the best food we had while in Japan, which is saying a lot! My husband ordered some plum wine that ended up being really strong stuff, so be forewarned. The service was excellent, the atmosphere very modern, and the experience was wonderful.
