“Elegant and delicious restaurant that specializes in crab”
You would never guess from the outside given the large red crab hanging from above what an elegant, tranquil and sophisticated restaurant is waiting for you on the second floor. You are greeted by a woman in a kimono and taken to your table which is low down but very comfortable once you place your... legs under the table. There is very little English spoken but there are pictures on the menu which are helpful. We ordered a potpouri of different crab preparations that were all delicious. If you like crab and are seeking a tranquil and non touristy dinner than this is a perfect place.

“Sehr feines Spezialitäten-Restaurant für Meeresspinnen (Snow crabs)”
Fünf Minuten östlich des Okayama-Bahnhofs erreicht man dieses Restaurant mit der riesigen, beleuchteten Meeresspinne auf der Außenfront. Ohne rechtzeitige Reservation hat man kaum eine Chance, einen Tisch zu bekommen. Alles hier ist elegant und fein, vom Dekor bis zum Service. Dieses große Restauran...t (16 Zimmer) ist auf die delikaten Meeresspinnen spezialisiert. Das Angebot der diversen Sets oder Zusammenstellung ist enorm, bis hin zu Kaiseki-Varianten. Es empfiehlt sich, ein Menü-Set zu bestellen, so in der Preisklasse ab Y 5000, bei dem bis zu 10 unterschiedliche Variationen auf den Tisch kommen. Alles schmeckt durchwegs ausgezeichnet. Die Preise sind recht angehoben, wenn man allerdings die "Rarität" und Qualität der Snow Crabs sowie das feine Ambiente berücksichtigt, relativiert sich der Preis durchaus. Sehr empfehlenswert!

“Wonderful!”
I am not someone who typically eats crab, but when our local Japanese friends wanted to take us here I couldn't say no. The food was AMAZING and I ate everything!! There was a ton of food and I left almost TOO full, but it was a great dining experience. Recommended for crab lovers!

“Quality maintained!”
Used to visit this chain store whenever I visit Japan. The one in Okayama is consistent with others. They have a seasonal menu from 1 Jun to 31 Aug. The crab sashimi platter is excellent that I have never tried before. Worth to try!

“Good and consistent”
Having been to the Osaka restaurants several time I found the one in Okayama to be consistent in quality, if not better. Large legs of crab with juicy crab meat is certainly the highlight. It can be expensive if you have a big appetite , otherwise one course meal of 8,000-10,000 yen can be shared am...ongst two persons. My favorite part of the meal is in fact the rice porridge the staff would help to prepare at the end of the meal using the soup stock from the hotspot. Absolutely delicious. The restaurant is located at the back alley behind the Takashimaya mall, 5 mins from JR station. look out for the giant crab at the top of the building. Restaurant is on 2nd floor of the building.
