“Amazing place to dine”
The best tofu ever. Doesn’t even taste like tofu - A must get! Huge steamed oysters, but you have to shuck them. Sashimi was so fresh. High recommend. They have an English menu.

“Don’t speak English. Only serve local.”
Don’t speak English. Only serve local. We ordered oyster set, oyster hot plate and chicken wing. But they just served us the chicken wing and say time over.

“Oysters Galore ”
Hotel reception at Mitsui Garden recommended us to Kakigoya. We have been walking past this restaurant on our way to Hondori Shopping centre without realising it. What a great recommendation on oysters dishes. Oysters prepare in 4 styles - grilled, claypot miso based, hotplate with spring onion a...nd deep fried . We try all except buttered oysters. We love the claypot best as it is cooked with veggie and mushrooms in miso based butter favour. Miso soup iscvery tasty and yet not tasty. We order 2 portions in medium claypot to satisfy our craving for oysters. Highly recommended! We try the grilled oysters with shell. Would prefer the usual fresh cold oysters than grilled . Fried oyster is normal. Next, we have 5 types of sashimi as the premium grades are not available. Sashimi is cut in thick slices for a yummy bite. Salad with salmon and avocado is very tasty and refreshing. Also try the fried chicken wings in pepper and soya sauce. I prefer the soya sauce chicken wing. The grilled seafood (5 types) is just so so. You could save the Y1600 for other dishes. After ordering so much food and 4 portions of sake, the bill amount to Y12000 for 4 pax!

“Very nice”
I made a reservation in advance and showed up 20 minutes earlier. Seats were available so I could take a counter seat immediately. Everything I took was tasty i.e. Baked Oysters, small sardine Tempura, Fried Oysters and steamed rice. Sake from Kure called Ugonotuki(meaning moon after the rain) was a...lso good. US$22 I paid was quite reasonable. Among 4 restaurants I went this time, this restaurant is the only one where the price paid justified the content given.
