“A delightful French take on Japanese ingredients”
We had wanted to treat ourselves to a fine dining meal on our final day in Hiroshima and this happened to be one of the few Michelin star establishments that opened on Sundays. It is a cosy restaurant - 3-4 tables and some counter seats - and we enjoyed our experience tremendously. Service (despi...te the slight language barrier) was sincere, with the sole wait staffer trying to find google translations to describe the ingredients for each dish to us. We loved that the chef-owner utilised very local ingredients re-imagined with French techniques of cooking. Standouts were the supremely creamy cod sperm croquettes, an espuma of Japanese sugar beets and the lemon mont blanc dessert that made with citrus from the Setouchi region. Our 5 course set lunch was well priced and we only spent slightly over USD100, inclusive of a glass of wine for each of us, incredible value.
